VDEM is seeking qualified candidates for our IT Support Analyst vacancy to develop and implement test plans for IT systems, including PCs (Windows updates, McAfee updates, network connectivity, etc.), software applications (such as CAD, etc.), video teleconferencing system, etc. This position will work on multiple, complex projects to assure that quality results are seen. Perform functions at a high level of technical variation and difficulty. Ensure various IT services are consistently operational. Provide high-quality, thorough, prompt and responsive user support services. Troubleshoot, track, and remediate issues on hardware and software systems. Communicate directly with vendors to remediate issues. Provide technical support for remote offices, to include weekly visits to offices in 7 VDEM regions across the Commonwealth.

All VDEM employees are designated as essential personnel and may be required to work during emergency situations, such as inclement weather, and natural or man-made disasters/events. This designation may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in this Employee Work Profile/job description.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Windows operating system installation & troubleshooting

  • Extensive knowledge and experience supporting MS Office, email applications, and web browers

  • Experience working with server and networked computing environments, TCP/IP, wireless networks and software troubleshooting

  • Knowledge of desktop security and IT support services best practices

  • Ability to effectively analyze, research and solve technical problems

  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently

  • Ability to assist in resolving production support problems

  • Experience using a ticketing system

  • Experience with computer deployment systems

  • Knowledge of Active Directory

  • Understanding of various Audio-Visual Technologies and Media

  • Knowledge of networking principles and security protocols

  • Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in an information technology support position. An equivalent combination of training and experience may substitute for a degree. ITIL certification preferred, but not required.

Special Requirements

Pay Band Range: $42,614 – $96,134. Salary commensurate with education and experience. A valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record are required and ability to pass a fingerprint-based criminal history background check. A one-year probationary period is required of all newly hired and re-hired employees.
