JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The driver is responsible for the safe operation of all company vehicles, accuracy in all paperwork and to ensure prompt and courtesy service to our customers. The driver’s schedule is communicated via the Scaffold Dispatcher. Listed below are some of the direct responsibilities of the driver, but is not limited to the following tasks:
Vehicle and Equipment:
Perform vehicle inspection and complete paperwork.
Perform any preventative maintenance of trucks and equipment.
Complete accurately all DOT paperwork as required during truck use.
Notify operations of any deficiencies of trucks and equipment in writing.
Maintain all required truck safety equipment, accessories and inspections.
Delivery of equipment:
Loaded equipment for delivery will be checked by the driver for the following; ensure that the load is properly secured; verify the accuracy of counts and description prior to leaving the yard.
The ticket is to be initialed by both the driver and the yard coordinator.
Obtaining necessary signatures on the required delivery paperwork.
Disbursing delivery paperwork as instructed.
Pick up equipment:
Visually inspecting and counting all equipment on all pickups.
Securing and periodically checking the load.
Noting any lost or damaged equipment on the return paperwork.
Obtaining necessary signatures on the required return paperwork.
Disbursing return paperwork as instructed.
Have successfully completed and understand Sunbelt’s new hire orientation.
Have successfully completed and understand all required safety training.
Drivers will be expected to assist in any yard functions when not performing the above duties.
Attend all required safety meetings.
Report any unsafe acts. Perform other duties assigned as assigned by the manager.

Education and Requirements:
High School Diploma
Valid Driver’s License
Must be Safety Conscious
Years of Experience:
- 1 year of experience minimum
May require specific class license
May require DOT physical
Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work. All duties must be performed according to Sunbelt’s safety policies and guidelines. Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with ADA/ADAAA.
